Big Fight Club OC Doubleheader Weekend Set

by admin

If you are a Southern California fight fan, The Hangar in Orange County will be the place to be on the weekend of October 4th and 6th as Roy Englebrecht Promotions presents two big Fight Club OC shows. On October 4th it will be the wildly popular hybrid Fight Club OC show combining both pro boxing and pro MMA, and then on Saturday, October 6th, “The Huntington Beach Bad Boy” Tito Ortiz will partner with Roy Englebrecht to present the inaugural Fight Club OC MMA Saturday Rising Stars show.

For the boxing and mma fans who likes to see two exciting combative sports in a ring on the same show, then Thursday, October 4th will be your pleasure, as a six bout fight card will feature three pro boxing bouts and three pro mixed martial arts bouts, and boy has Roy Englebrecht’s matchmaker’s Whit Haydon and Mel Valenzuela put a quality show together.

It will be all action in the following pro boxing bouts as popular San Diego jr middleweight David Barragan who is 2-0 with 2 ko’s battling Palmdales Carl Hill in a four round scrap. Lusi Hernandez who scored a wild KO win in his pro Hangar debut returns to the ring and faces local OC brawler Rufino Flores. Top heavyweight amateur John Hamm, who just missed making our Olympic team will be making his pro debut, and at nearly 6-7 and 260 lbs has a great pro future ahead of him. And to round out the pro boxing bouts, it will be top prospect Robert Rodriguez who at 7-1 has just been signed my big time manager Frank Espinoza and will be making his Hangar debut.

On the MMA side, you don’t want to miss a minute of this action, as UFC veteran Rod Emerson makes his second appearance at Fight Club OC, after his first round submission of Jason Williams on August 16th, Emerson will be in tough as he faces former M-1 vet Aaron Miller in a 145lbs war. These two warriors bring nearly 50 pro fights into The Hangar. Fireworks are expected as WEC and Fight Club OC veteran from Lake Forest, Josh Smith returns and is looking to win the inaugural Fight Club OC Lightweight Championship belt, but Tustin’s EJ Chavez stands in the way of this all OC war. And as customary, Fight Club OC promoter Roy Englebrecht likes to give young fighters the opportunity to showcase their talents. So fans can  watch Huntington Beach’s Luc Bondole and Pasadena’s Wolfgang Steinback break the seal on their pro careers.

Now if you are a hard core MMA fan than Saturday night October 6th at The Hangar is where you want to be, as “The Huntington Beach Bad Boy” Tito Ortiz debuts his Fight Club OC RISING STARS show. This 10 bout card will feature some of the top amateur MMA talent from the OC as well as Southern California, and all the fighters will be giving 100% after a private training session with Tito a week prior to the show.

So pick you pleasure, Thursday, October 4th a great hybrid Fight Club OC show, or Saturday, October 6th a big 10 bout MMA show, but whatever you pick you can’t go wrong as the Fight Club OC slogan states….FIGHTS GUARANTEED!!

Don’t forget about the great Happy Hours Specials at Baja Blues starting at 5:30pm on both Thursday and Saturday so come early, and once again the Fight Club OC Cigar Lounge will be open for business.
